There are so many films that come out every year that it’s impossible to believe that every one of them will get the recognition they deserve, but some of them are ignored by audiences or did not receive the box-office success. This is incredibly unfair to the film-makers themselves, but also to movie lovers like all of you reading this article. There is a whole world of exciting and Underrated movies out there and I want to illuminate that a little with this list.
Starring -Dhanush and Shruti Hassan.
3 is the Tamil romantic psychological thriller film written and directed with which Aishwarya R. Dhanush made her directorial debut in Kollywood. This is the movie that gave us one of the most popular songs – “Why this kolaveri di?”
The performance by Dhanush is just the BEST, and although the National Award winner has given us great performances, this is his Career best. His path-breaking performance makes the audience laugh and cry in appropriate situations and makes this movie Highly underrated.
Cast -Shah Rukh Khan , Gayatri Joshi.
The asset of the film is Shahrukh Khan, looking ordinary and real but in an extra-ordinary performance. His most real and underrated since ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa’ and his career’s best. ARR music is soulful and original. The theme song ‘Yeh Jo Des Hai Mera’ haunts both in terms of its visuals and wordings.
It’s definitely a treat for those who want to see moving and believable films on a large scale.
Cast -Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta.
Director- Farhan Akhtar
The movie is yet another masterpiece from Farhan Akhtar, the Director after the tremendous success of “Dil Chahta Hai”. Lack of Box-Office Success made people ignore it and Highly underrated
Hrithik Roshan is brilliantly understated in this coming-of-age epic. World-class production values and high father-son, soldier-soldier emotional content that’s not forced
3-Iron (South Korean)
Director-Kim ki Duk
Seung-yeon ,Hyun-kyoon Lee.
This movie was a deep, sensitive, imaginative masterpiece
Do yourself a favour and see this inconspicuous underrated and little film that is so profoundly simple and beautiful that you’ll be wanting to send me a thank you note afterwards for telling you this.
Tamasha is indeed an invigorated tale in today’s times of fatuous films! It is clichéd, yes… It is flawed, yes… its story is nothing new, but the way Imtiaz presents the story in the form of musical narrative, and the manner in which lead protagonists, Ranbir and Deepika mark that presence is truly commendable.
Tamasha is all about the journey of Ved (portrayed by Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (portrayed by Deepika Padukone) through self-discovery, love, passion, contend and vivacious emotions. Its screenplay is non- linear, mind you, which might make some uncomfortable for a love story, but Tamasha is not only about romance, if you’re wondering.
If soul searching and matters beyond your mundane existence intrigue you then Tamasha is the perfect film to watch. Also we need more of RK in our lives I say!
Cast – Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha
Director- Vikramaditya Motwane
This Imaginative love story by Vikramaditya Motwane resembles a poetry in beauty
The most amazing aspect I loved about the movie are the fantastic performances from its lead actors. Never has Ranveer Singh been so subtle yet so effective and charming. Never has Sonakshi Sinha looked so naturally ethereal, and given such a stupendous performance. Lootera is a joy to watch because it has these two young actors give their best performances ever
